| cooltopten | Mar 28, 8:54pm | forget hollywood guys K -horror and J-horror is the future .korean and japanese Horror really kicks hollywoods ass.The asians grow up with ghost and horror stories from a young age , its in their culture.
Hollywood just seems to copy japanese horrors lately ,
eg The ring , The grudge , Premonition etc.
If you want to watch some really cool horror watch , the Eye , reincarnation , dark water , tale of 2 sisters(my favourite) , cello , Audition , Identity , Koma.
Once you get past the subtitles thing, your be in for a real treat if you have never seen any asian horror.
I have to say that hellraiser 1 and hellraiser bloodline are great Movies too. |

| | 438731 | Mar 30, 3:39am | I dunno coolopten, I watched The Host recently and thought it sucked balls. Dodgy CGI and cheesy acting. I just don't like the type of humour they try to inject in these films. They did the same with Oldboy and took the edge of what could have been a great film. Shame really.
Now you're just going to ignore everything I've said when I make the admission that The Mist is the best horror film I've seen in a long while. I'd never read the novella, so I couldn't make the inevitable "it's not as good as the book" comparison. Yes there are plot holes, and "why the hell would you do that?" moments, but I just loved it. |

| cooltopten | Mar 31, 3:37pm | Yes I started to watch the host the other night and fell asleep in it :) , but the last few days" I watched save the green planet" sounds gay but is a really cool japanese movie .Also watched arang and muio and shutter , all where pretty cool.
At the moment I,m downloading (I mean getting the dvd) of KAIRO , its the original japanese version of the pulse.(looks pretty cool)
I havnet actually seen the mist yet d4mi4n , I watched the fog and that sucked balls.I think the latest American movie I watched that I liked was "no country for old men"(I actually really liked it,cool psycho in it)
As for oldboy I really liked that , i dont mind there humor.
Ichi the Killer is anotehr cool movie and though not horror the korean movie brotherhood (war movie) is an exellent watch . |

|
| Sponsor | LightChaser | Apr 2, 8:04pm | I loved tale of two sisters and audition...Although sometimes I feel like I'm missing some cultural things about Japanese and Korean movies but they have a level of sublime creepiness that the american remakes can't touch.
And although it's not a straight horror movie the happiness of the katakuris (Takashi Miike directed) cannot be missed! |
